Anxiety / Panic Attacks

To feel anxious at times is nothing out of the ordinary, everyone does. A person usually gets anxious when they are going through hardships in their everyday life or sometimes, a person may feel anxious for no reason at all. Either way, anxiety makes it very hard to live your life normally. There is very little energy left in a person after their mind is overcome with a feeling of fear and dread. Nothing but fear remains which takes it out of the person suffering from anxiety.

When anxiety climbs up a step higher and takes on another level, it dissolves into what is called a panic attack. The person is overwhelmed and has trouble breathing.

Social anxiety is another kind of anxiety that affects people with certain social circumstances. A socially anxious person can very quickly change discomfort into anxiety and then have a panic attack.

There are no concrete causes of anxiety to this day. It is said that certain aspects like medical conditions, general stress, and changes in brain chemistry cause anxiety. Additionally, other disorders like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can also sometimes cause anxiety disorders.

If there is no particular cause, then it is very difficult to find a specific solution. It is highly advised for attack-prone people to opt for counselling that helps them understand and handle their anxiety attacks or try taking antidepressants in extreme cases.
